Description
Richard Harrison is a crippled “man without a name” who come a cross, a little trashed town in the middle of nowhere. Inhabitated by a bunch of lowlifes and one woman, Rita, who spread the legs for whoever. The woman is married to one of two psychopathic fellas, Carl and Gordon, who hold the few people in a iron fist, since they own the only car in town and is the only connection to the rest of the world. The rest of the town is a sadistic woman killer, a alcoholic gold digger and a mute hunch bag playing harmonica. Our hero stay in the town, and the story begin. “Sewer Rats” is like a very misanthropic spaghetti western set in a modern world. It is a gritty revenge plot with a nameless hero like in “A Fistfull of Dollars”, mixed with rural horror elements a la “Straw Dogs”. Very haunting to follow. The few violent scenes we are presented for, is all VERY violent and is at times limiting the absurd and grotesque. Like when Carl beat the hell out of Rita and rape her. Nasty. The dominating color in the picture is brown, which give a dirty look to the violence and sleaze.
