Hunt, The

£8.00

José, Paco and Luis are three friends and war veterans who one day decide to go hunting in the company of Enrique, a 20-year-old on his first outing. They will practice their favorite sport on Paco’s land, where not too long ago an important Civil War battle took place. An edgy thriller as well as a heavily symbolic study of hatred and rivalry, the hunt becomes an allegory of war.

Description

Interesting and thought-provoking look about a rabbit hunting excursion through a hot , long day . Well directed film by Carlos Saura who tried to create a sort of Spanish Neo-Realism by tackling a hunt starred by four former friends (Alfredo Mayo , Jose Maria Prada , Luis Merlo and Emilio Gutierrez Caba) that becomes a violent confrontation . Both of them find their friendships extended to the breaking point in which emerges violence and vengeance , turning the characters over the edge of breakdown. IMDB
